I have mentioned a number of times in my last posts, that each one of us is made up of a spirit, with a soul, living in a physical body. I have also explained that the ‘soul’ consists of the mind, the emotions, our ‘thinking’ and our ‘feeling’ parts. Many years ago, a picture was revealed to me of how this works. I saw something like an ice cream cone, which is wide at the top and narrows as you go down to a point at the bottom. And in this picture, I saw that the ‘spiritual energy’ was at the top (the widest place), and as we went down the cone we moved through the mental and emotional parts as the cone got narrower. Finally, we came to the tip of the cone which is where we entered the dense matter of the physical body.

Now in truth, we know nothing about how the mind and the emotions interface with the human body. We certainly know that we experience them and that they affect the physical body. For example, imagine you receive some sudden bad news by phone. No one has physically touched you, yet you feel sick in your stomach and light headed and even dizzy. You are experiencing the physical manifestation of a mental and emotional stress, and ultimately, although most of us don’t want to believe it, this is the most common cause of problems in the physical body.

So, what of the human spirit? I refer to the human spirit as the ‘source of life’. This is the life force that enters the single cell at the moment that the sperm and the egg come together. It brings new life into the cells and will eventually become a fully formed human body. This ‘life force’ is your connection to your creator. We are now discussing what might be called the ‘spiritual’ world. Most people are struggling to make sense of this, and as we have all been given free will, we all have the freedom to choose different paths. However, when I look around at the incredible world we live in, with all its beauty, extravagance and wonder, I can only conclude that it didn’t just happen by chance.

At the end of the day, from a healing perspective, it is not possible to separate the body, the soul or the spirit. These three layers of life are totally interconnected. A holistic approach will encompass all these different aspects of life. One thing is sure however, tomorrow you can be more healthy than you are today if you are willing to do what it takes to make this happen.
