There are important principles of healing that make a huge difference to your health when you understand them. The first principle that we will we look at is toxicity, which is a build up of unwanted substances in your body and is one of the key reasons we get sick. Toxins can come from many sources but, in the end, they all have to be eliminated from the body somehow. You have five major organs that get rid of toxins from your body. They are the lungs, the liver, the bowel, the kidneys and the skin.

If the lung, the liver, the bowel, and the kidneys are functioning properly, the body generally doesn’t have to use the skin to get rid of toxins. You see, your skin is your largest organ of elimination and it can remove large quantities of toxins from your body once you activate it. Often, skin problems can reflect a buildup of toxins in the body, which means that some of the organs mentioned above may not be functioning at their most effective.


I’d like to address the issue of the sort of things that may be going wrong in the other organs of elimination. Food, after it has been digested and absorbed into the bloodstream, travels directly to the liver. Herein lies a huge potential source of toxicity because if the food is not properly digested or if the digestive system gets compromised and larger food particles end up in the bloodstream, then the immune system kicks in and creates a food sensitivity or an allergic reaction. This greatly alarms the liver and causes the liver to dump the toxins back into the bloodstream. From here, the toxins can get stuck in different parts of the body. The first port of call can be the sinuses, followed by the lungs, and it is not uncommon to find that lung problems and sinus problems are closely linked to food. So looking at the food you are eating and figuring out the foods that might be causing you a problem can be very important indeed.

The easiest way to do this is by using the science of muscle testing (also known as Kinesiology) which I will be talking about a little later on. Another great thing to do is active aerobic exercise, as it is very helpful to the lungs and the whole body because it activates the lymphatic system which is a powerful draining system for toxins. Another critical issue is the activity of the bowl. You absolutely need to have two bowel movements per day if you are going to clear toxins and be healthy. I have addressed this critical issue in a previous post about the colon.

Another thing to be aware of is the kidneys. The kidneys function using water and you absolutely cannot be healthy unless you’re drinking at least 2 litres of water per day. If you are suffering from skin problems you should endeavour to increase this, as activating the kidneys is one of the quickest ways of getting rubbish out of your system. However, the activity of your kidneys and bladder is strongly connected to anxiety and stress and so it is not all about food. Important foods that strengthen the kidneys include Cranberry juice (unsweetened) and whole-foods. Too much red meat, especially when you don’t drink enough water, can stress the kidneys.

So in summary, the key principles for healing your body are that you should make sure that you drink lots of water, have at least two regular bowel movements per day, take some herbs to cleanse the liver and take regular daily aerobic exercise. Thankfully, there are many nutritional herbs and other products can help bring this balance back into your body quite easily and we will be talking about these in the future.
